Welcome to my review of Tea for Two at the Little Cornish Kitchen (The Little Cornish Kitchen, Book 2) By Jane Linfoot. This book has the perfect cover, it’s so pretty and feminine. It sits well with the story inside which I loved!

St Aidan: a cosy Cornish village where friendships are made for life and it’s always cocktail hour somewhere…
The Little Cornish Kitchen is going on tour!
When internet sensation ‘Cressida Cupcake’ has a soggy bottomed TV fiasco and faces bake-off backlash she jumps at the chance to spend some time hiding out in St Aidan, dog sitting for her brother.
Picturesque Seaspray Cottage is meant to be Cressy Hobson’s port in the storm but with her blog sponsors having fled and her book deal gone sideways her funds are running low and she’s forced to turn to the locals for help. Soon her quiet weeks in Cornwall are filled with chasing sheep, saving the local retirement village, taking The Little Cornish Kitchen into people’s homes for baking nights…and keeping vigilant guard against romance.
The one and only time Cressy lost her head to love was over a decade ago while in St Aidan, and she won’t be making the same mistake again – a feat easier said than done when Ross Bradbury looks even better a decade on…and every step she takes seems to put him in her path!
Jane Linfoot writes fun, flirty fiction, with feisty heroines, and lots of heart.
Writing is fab, because I get to wear pretty shoes instead of wellies. I live in a cottage up a mountain road in Derbyshire, where my family and pets are kind enough to ignore the domestic chaos. Happily, we’re in walking distance of a supermarket. I love hearts, flowers, happy endings, all things vintage, most things french. When I’m not on facebook, and can’t find an excuse for shopping, I’ll be walking, or gardening. On days when I want to be really scared, I ride a tandem.

This book will make you feel hungry for cake and lots of it. The descriptions of all the brownies, blondies, meringues, icing, cookies, well, anything cake is beautiful. This is a cosy, contemporary romance with lots of love and fun and a fantastic cast of characters. The cover is stunning and perfect for the pages between them.
The plot centres around Cressy Cupcake, an internet baking sensation who is house-sitting for her brother while he is away. A blast from the past appears soon after she arrives in the form of her ex, Ross Bradbury, and she’s not happy to see him in the slightest! I loved following Cressy’s journey, trying to make some money to live on so she didn’t have to ask for help. She transformed her life and her whole world simultaneously by helping to save the local care home she had become so fond of.
I loved the concept of The Little Cornish Kitchen on tour and seeing how Cressy deals with new situations, a diverse range of people and the events that follow.
The characters were warm and loving. Cressy makes the most amazing little group of friends, who call themselves the Mermaids, who will do anything to help each other. The care home residents, staff and the other characters are delightful and well developed, though some of their parts are small. Most of all, I think ten-year-old Millie was my favourite character. She is confident, very switched on and full of personality and advice for those around her.
The ending was predictably happily ever after, but I would expect nothing less from such a book, and it was perfect right to the last words.
This is a standout feel-good read, the perfect escapism from the rest of the world. I read it as a stand-alone, although the first book, ‘The Little Cornish Kitchen’, published in 2018, focuses on Charlie and Clemmie, so I will be going back to read that one soon. I just might need a little trip to Cornwall to rest, relax and eat cake while I read it!
