About The Author

Caz Finlay is the author of the bestselling of the Bad Blood books, a series of gangland thrillers set in Liverpool. She lives in Liverpool with her husband and two children. She has two BA Hons in Criminal Justice and Community Justice. A Senior Probation Officer who has worked in the criminal justice system for seventeen years, Caz has always been fascinated by the psychology of human behaviour and the reasons people do the things they do. However it was the death of her son in 2016 which prompted her to rediscover her love of writing. She is currently writing the seventh instalment in the Bad Blood series and is also the co-founder of Perfect Crime festival.

My Review

If you’re looking for an exciting read with plenty of twists and turns, then look no further than the Bad Blood Series by author Caz Finlay, especially this latest instalment, ‘A Score to Settle’. Her fast-paced, gripping stories follow a gangland family based in Liverpool. Grace and Michael have retired to Spain with their two youngest children and left their sons in charge of the family businesses. Jake and Sibohan’s daughter, eight-year-old Isla goes missing, initially, they think she has just wandered off until they realise that things aren’t quite as they seem.

A Score to Settle explores revenge in the worst possible way as Grace’s family struggles to uncover the truth behind her granddaughter’s disappearance. You’ll be on the edge of your seat as you follow along with Grace and her family as they try desperately to bring their little girl home safely. With so many enemies though, it’s difficult to work out who could be responsible.

The characters in this series are wonderful, especially Grace herself whose courage and determination know no bounds when it comes to protecting her family. It’s also great to see her return after being absent in some of Finlay’s earlier books. Throughout the story, we accompany Jake on his mission to save his daughter while also discovering what really happened that fateful day when she went missing.

This is the eighth book in the series and the final of the series which I have loved. I am going to really miss catching up with this gangland family who knows no bounds when loving and protecting each other, or indeed when torturing people to get the answers they require!

All in all, if you’re looking for an exciting read that will keep you guessing from start to finish, then pick up a copy of Caz Finlay’s A Score to Settle today, or better yet start from the beginning to ge the most out of the series and learn about how the family develops over time.
