Welcome to my review of Do No Harm by Jack Jordan. This is the first novel I have read by Jack Jordan, and I have never heard of him before. I must have been hiding under a rock again, as plenty of people have! This was another tremendous looking thriller / medical novel that looked really interesting.

Copy & Paste froMy child has been taken. And I’ve been given a choice…
Kill a patient on the operating table. Or never see my son again.
The man lies on the table in front of me.
As a surgeon, it’s my job to save him.
As a mother, I know I must kill him.
You might think that I’m a monster.
But there really is only one choice.
I must get away with murder.
Or I will never see my son again.
I’VE SAVED MANY LIVES.
WOULD YOU TRUST ME WITH YOURS?
DON’T MISS THE HEART-STOPPING THRILLER OF 2022
#DONOHARM
Jack Jordan is the global bestselling author of Anything for Her, My Girl, A Woman Scorned, Before Her Eyes, and Night by Night and an Amazon No.1 bestseller in the UK, Canada, and Australia. After selling at auction in the UK and numerous foreign territories, Do No Harm is set to be the thriller of the summer in 2022. The idea for Do No Harm came to Jack after undergoing a minor medical procedure where he had to be sedated and trust strangers with his welfare. After the anaesthesia wore off, Jack began scribbling his notes, wondering to himself just how iron-clad a surgeon’s oath is, and what it would take to break it… To find out more, follow Jack on Twitter and InstagramÂ

Based on three female characters, Jack Jordan doesn’t waste any time jumping straight into the story, and it moves with quite a pace. In addition, it is cleverly narrated from the three different perspectives, drawing you in instantly.
Dr Anna Jones is a cardiothoracic surgeon at the top of her game, about to perform one of the most significant operations of her career. A triple bypass on local MP Ahmed Shabir tipped to be the future leader of his party. Anna is also a devoted mother to her son Zack. At seven years old, she returns home one day to find him missing and her neighbour, who was caring for him, dead. She must kill the MP if she ever wants to see her son alive again, but it goes against the Hippocratic oath, Do No Harm.
Margot Barnes works at the same hospital and scrubs in with Dr Anna Jones. With various personal issues, including struggling to make ends meet, she sees what happens and decides to take advantage of her own needs.
Detective Inspector Rachel Conaty, also suffering from personal issues, though of a different kind, cannot remain professional when she discovers a body with links to Dr Jones.
Do No Harm examines numerous moral dilemmas alongside some fascinating characters and some clever twists. The plot is tense, dark and unpredictable. An action-packed, suspenseful ride that twists like a rollercoaster. I loved it!
I listened to the audiobook version, brilliantly narrated by Lucy Paterson, Sarah Feathers and Jane Collingwood.
Thanks to the author, publisher and Netgalley for an advanced copy. All opinions are my own and I was not obliged to review them.
