I thought I would share with you my reading goals for 2022. There are seven of them, which may be an odd number, but they suit me well, and I can always add more as I go along!

This one is relatively self-explanatory. I hope to read 100 books this year, more than I targeted last year but less than I read and a goal I think is achievable amongst the other things I know I need to get done. I may add some more audiobooks as I have enjoyed them recently and maybe venture outside my comfort zone to try some comic books or manga as my daughter highly recommends them. I will also read a mixture of book lengths as I have recently enjoyed some short stories or series.

I want to spread my reading fairly equally between ARCs and other books. Last year I was a little off this with and read more ARCs than anything else. While I love reading ARCs, I sometimes forget why I have chosen them or add too many at once and then feel a little rushed to read them when I have other purchased books I want to get read. So this year, I plan to be more balanced.

I read almost all of my books on my kindle last year, and yet I have started to collect several physical books, which I haven’t read any of in the previous few years, preferring to read on my kindle app, which is always with me. I want to read more of the physical books I have, many of which I want to read but haven’t got to yet!

I have never participated in a reading challenge before, but I have seen loads around, especially at the beginning of the year. So I want to choose at least one I haven’t done yet and complete it this year as a new challenge.

Last year, I created a Bookstagram account and had a wonderful welcome from numerous people. However, I have been a bit useless at posting things, and I want to build my number of followers, so if you would like to be one, follow me here!

I confess to never having read or enjoyed any poetry. However, I read some in school, which was compulsory, and it was a bit overanalysed rather than for enjoyment. I want to read various poems by different poets and find some that I enjoy. I have recently read a few by Sylvia Plath and have purchased a book of poetry for every day of the year to start me off. After watching Dickinson on Apple TV, I am also keen to read some of Emily Dickinson’s work, which I loved.

Last year I didn’t manage to blog regularly because I couldn’t see for over half the year, so it was impossible to use my computer. I have managed to catch up a lot towards the end of the year, but I want to keep it up this year. While I mainly focus on book reviews, I also want to add different posts. I also want to add in the ability for readers to join a mailing list to be emailed with each new post, so they don’t miss anything.
