What if you could live your great love story again?
THE CAPTIVATING NEW NOVEL FROM THE SUNDAY TIMES BESTSELLING AUTHOR OF ONE DAY IN DECEMBER
Lydia and Freddie. Freddie and Lydia. They’ve been together for almost a decade, and are just about to get married. But then, on Lydia’s 27th birthday, Freddie dies in a tragic accident.
Then something unbelievable happens. Lydia gets another chance at her old life with Freddie.
But what if there’s someone in her new life who wants her to stay?
A gorgeously romantic love story for fans of PS I Love You and Me Before You, this novel will make you laugh, cry and remind you of what a wonderful gift it is to love and to be loved.

I chose this book as I’ve previously enjoyed work by Josie Silver and was keen to read more.
When Lydia loses her childhood sweetheart, fiancé Freddie, she is entirely and understandably devastated by the tragic accident. That is until she finds a way to get back to him and begins to live in two alternate universes. In one, she is living her old life with Freddie, and in the other, she is back in the real world without him.
This is a hearty read, full of love, grief, friendships and loss. The chapters in the alternate universe with Freddie help balance the book, and there are some delightfully romantic moments. These chapters also allow us to get to know Freddie and understand the significant loss Lydia is going through. With plenty of heartbreak and romance, this is a brilliant read.
The characters in both universes are highly engaging and realistic. My favourite character was Johan, Freddie and Lydias best friend. However, all of the characters were believable and loveable. Lydia’s mother and sister support Lydia and her grief despite their obvious grief and everything else happening in their lives.
Freddie seemed very loveable at first, but I am unsure if he was indeed the one for Lydia despite being together for so long. The ending was predictable but beautifully written, and I enjoyed it.
I loved this book by Josie Sliver; it was beautifully and sensitively written and an easy read that carried you through Lydia’s ups and downs of Lydia’s life. Although a dreadful thought, this could be about anyone you know as it’s so relatable and shows a beautiful alternate universe that I am sure we would all visit if we could.
An inspiring read, this would be perfect for fans of Jojo Moyes or Jodi Picoult.
