Warning #1: This book is not to be taken seriously. Do not read this if you don’t have the sense of humor of a 15 year old boy. Do not read this if you ARE a fifteen year old boy. This book is totally crude and inappropriate and uses the word “vagina” a lot. No, I mean A LOT. If you don’t think people who are drunk are hilarious, you shouldn’t read this book. You probably shouldn’t read this book if you aren’t drunk yourself. You should probably just put this book down and get drunk. You may think that no one in the world talks like the people in this book, but they do. They are called “people who are funny and inappropriate”. This book is completely unrealistic; the author is aware of that fact and did it on purpose.
You know, I think it’s time I turn my vagina into an Arby’s beef and cheddar (minus the cheddar) and saddle myself down for a minimum of eighteen years to someone who will suck the soul and the will to live right out of my body so I’m a shell of the person I used to be and can’t get laid even if I pay for it.
2012 Goodreads Choice Award Nominee – Best Romance
Claire is a twenty-something, single mom that grudgingly helps her best friend sell sex toys while she attempts to make enough money to start her own business to give her foul-mouthed, but extremely loveable (when he’s asleep) toddler a better life.
When Carter, the one-night-stand from her past that changed her life forever, shows up in her hometown bar without any recollection of her besides her unique chocolate scent, Claire will make it a point that he remembers her this time.
With Carter’s undisguised shock at suddenly finding out he has a four-year-old son and Claire’s panic that her stretch marks and slim to none bedroom experience will send the man of her dreams heading for the hills, the pair will do whatever they can to get their happily ever after.
Warning #2: contains explicit sex, profanity and enough sarcasm to choke a horse.
Tara Sivec is a USA Today best-selling author, wife, mother, chauffeur, maid, short-order cook, baby-sitter, and sarcasm expert. She lives in Ohio with her husband and two children and looks forward to the day when all three of them become adults and move out.
After working in the brokerage business for fourteen years, Tara decided to pick up a pen and write instead of shoving it in her eye out of boredom. She is the author of 24 books ranging from Romantic Comedy and Romantic Suspense to Psychological Thriller and Erotic Romance. Her novel Seduction and Snacks won first place in the Indie Romance Convention Reader’s Choice Awards 2013 for Best Indie First Book and she was voted Best Indie Author in the Indie Romance Convention Reader’s Choice Awards 2014.
In her spare time, Tara loves to dream about all of the baking she’ll do and naps she’ll take when she ever gets spare time.
I was recommended this book as ‘laugh out loud funny’ and that it definitely is! I wouldn’t recommend reading it in public, the random outbursts of laughter could get you locked up fairly quickly or at least some very strange looks!
Claire is a lovely character, having decided that she never wanted children as a young child she proceeded to tell the world, a university student with her life all planned out in front of her that definitely does not include children. Tired of being a virgin she decides to ‘get it over with’ at a frat party one night… a few weeks later she realises that she’s pregnant, but she doesn’t even know the name of the guy she’s slept with and nobody else seems to know either!
Claire becomes a loving single mother to her son, Gavin but she can’t get her mystery man out of her mind. Four years later and Carter turns up out of the blue, turns out he has been seeking the mystery girl who smells of chocolate since their first night together as well.
Obviously, a love story blossoms but, along with the other characters, their friends, it’s no soppy love story, it’s one of the funniest books I’ve ever read!
Ladies and Gentlemen, we have now entered the drunk crying portion of our evening. Please put your seatbacks in the upright position and try not to start at the train wreck to your left.
Very rude in places and sometimes inappropriate, the story isn’t necessarily believable but it’s a light-hearted romance that will cheer you up and keep you laughing throughout… true to the author’s own comments; “Do not read this if you don’t have the sense of humour of a 15-year-old boy. Do not read this if you ARE a fifteen-year-old boy.”
