Time for something a little different! Over the next 9 days, I am going to review all of Lana Melyan’s ‘The Weight of Magic” series. these are written as sort novellas like a Netflix or TV series and having binge read them in that way I thought I would review them in that way too!
I have never read a book by Lana Meylan before, but I had heard a lot of chatter about book 9 on a Facebook group and so really wanted to give it a try! These are short novella’s of around 70 pages each and are designed to be read in order to tell the story in a similar way to a TV series.
I have another trip ahead. I am about to face the Order for the first time.
We’ve solved one problem, but before we stopped Murphy, he managed to pass some information on to the Order. The damage is done, and our lives and the mission are in danger once again.
I’m eager to get into this fight, and I convince Nate to take me with him.
Am I ready for that? I don’t know. But there’s a first time for everything.
It’s also time for Nate to answer the question I’m yearning to, and at the same time dreading to ask. Are our feelings strong enough to withstand the truth?
The novella series The Weight of Magic is a quick-paced, exciting ride with unexpected turns and twists. It’s like a TV show in a book form. Each episode tells one portion of the story and is designed to be read in order. Fans of The Vampire Diaries, Twilight, Legacies, and devoted friend and powerful witch Bonnie Bennett, will love Lana Melyan’s brand new series. Start your binge read now.
Lana Melyan is the author of paranormal fantasy novels filled with epic love stories, great adventure, magic, humor, and strong and powerful heroines.
When she’s not writing, she likes to binge-watch TV shows, and that’s where the idea of the new, fast-paced, episodic format of The Weight of Magic serials came from.
Video games are her other hobby. Lara Croft has instilled in her a love for PS games and her The Eternity Road book trailer is narrated by Nathan McCree, the composer of the first three Tomb Raider games.
Lana has studied literature for five years. She lives in beautiful Norway with her two daughters.

The excitement begins to pick up a little more in this next instalment. There is another trip ahead where Nicky and her friends will come up against The Order for the first time. She has her usual insecurities about Nate and whether they can stay strong through the storm, will he let her come along and help or will he expect her to stay behind and leave others to fight her battles for her?
Having defeated her evil cousin in the last instalment, Nicky really is now the last Callahan but the question hangs in the balance; do The Order know she exists?
The relationship dynamics are great in this book and they develop to new depths as they are tested more than in the others. It’s interesting learning more about the Callahan family history as the books go on and more to learn about the magical world.
There is a lot more action in this than in the previous books which is great to see, again it’s a short novella so a quick hour or two to read and easy to fit in around other things. I’m really enjoying the format of these and they feel very much like a TV series in the way they are written.
