Time for something a little different! Over the next 9 days, I am going to review all of Lana Melyan’s ‘The Weight of Magic” series. these are written as sort novellas like a Netflix or TV series and having binge read them in that way I thought I would review them in that way too!
I have never read a book by Lana Meylan before, but I had heard a lot of chatter about book 9 on a Facebook group and so really wanted to give it a try! These are short novella’s of around 70 pages each and are designed to be read in order to tell the story in a similar way to a TV series.
I’m the last Callahan left, and now I’m the only keeper of all the secrets.
Even Nathan, who is the last Cain, after all, has no access to this information.
The question is, what now? These new people came into my life and they expect me to tell them what to do next, to help them carry on the mission. How do I do this when I can’t even control my magic as it keeps bursting out of me?
It’s clear now that Nathan and I are tied to each other. I need him to teach me how to control my powers, and he needs me to unlock the mausoleum. Only together can we fulfill this mission.
But I wonder if that’s the only reason that keeps him here, with me.
The novella series The Weight of Magic is a quick-paced, exciting ride with unexpected turns and twists. It’s like a TV show in a book form. Each episode tells one portion of the story and is designed to be read in order. Fans of The Vampire Diaries, Twilight, Legacies, and devoted friend and powerful witch Bonnie Bennett, will love Lana Melyan’s brand new series. Start your binge read now.
Lana Melyan is the author of paranormal fantasy novels filled with epic love stories, great adventure, magic, humor, and strong and powerful heroines.
When she’s not writing, she likes to binge-watch TV shows, and that’s where the idea of the new, fast-paced, episodic format of The Weight of Magic serials came from.
Video games are her other hobby. Lara Croft has instilled in her a love for PS games and her The Eternity Road book trailer is narrated by Nathan McCree, the composer of the first three Tomb Raider games.
Lana has studied literature for five years. She lives in beautiful Norway with her two daughters.

Nicky is the last Callahan and Nathan, who she appears to be falling for, is the last Cain. They must work together but Nicky wonders if that’s the only thing he is interested in. all the new people around her look to her for the answers but she can’t share all of the information and doesn’t know what it all means yet. All she knows is that she needs Nathans help and he needs her to be able to unlock the mausoleum; they can only fulfil their mission together.
Nicky has started her training with Nathan and seems to be growing in confidence quickly which is lovely to see. Nicky has been shown to be blossoming, her character is growing with each book alongside the others around her which is making good reading. She eventually begins to get together with Nate and we also catch up with the relationships of the other characters.
This third book brings together some of the characters and focuses on their lives and Nicky’s training. These books have great endings which ensure that you want to continue on and read the next book in the series which is great, it’s much like binge-watching a series on Netflix but reading instead and one where you can slot in a cheeky little book in between other things because they’re so short and entertaining!
